Spib had made an addon to the download manager that works with paypal. I dont know what ever happened to it but its what I am using now for my site.

I use to use another paypal program that was really good that you can also implement. hotscripts.com is a good place for those.

Okay, folks. Lets get this one done. This IS the killer app for SD.
Start listing the features you want a store/shopping cart to have. Be specific. This can be a pretty complex feature.
Understand that I'm going to contract this one out, so it won't be free. It will come at a minimal cost JUST TO RECOUP my expenses. I'll get it back via VOLUME, not high cost. And once the costs are covered, it will become free.

Your da man FASherman :)
Here is the list. ( If you need more I got another list :D )
1. Same users system as sd (in my case vBulletin)
2. Product search
3. Add tax to product
4. Give discont on products (10%), or make discount cats.
5. Products available, not available, product on order (10 pices left) (time limit 3 days left on sale)
6. Tumbnails and bigger image in shaved window. (It would be nice to have a html window for shop logo, see image) Auto generated size on thumbnail, admin controls size for big image.
7. Credit cards must be accepted. (I dont know how this works)
8. Add and remove custom poduct fields
9. send product info to friend (with link)
10. send 'more info request' (to shop)
11. Cats and subcats for products
12. price in many currency's and call for price option
13. shop is down for maintenac or other.
14. Agree to Terms doc
15. Shipping Options (and price)
16. Purchase History
17. Announcements
18. Site Documents: Shipping Information, a Terms of Agreement, and other policy documents regarding your company
19. Good language suport (everthing must be translateble)
20. Reports (sales weak, year, month)
This is a nice output of a popup window for a shop.
<title>biger image</title>

It is no longer available as an add-on.
But, it will be included in the next official release of the DLM.

geiri has listed a good set of features.
If I can add some, and these are just suggestions so some could be saved for later in order to get a core version of the shopping cart out.
I will also update this post as more come to me.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Profile option for those who are part of your forum but do not want to recieive emails about new products.
-Newsletters to those who did sign up featuring new products that admin select
-top sold products
-top viewed products
-paypal integration - for IPN I think you need SSL
-paypal address correction - if the customer selects paypal for payment. Have the shopping cart grabe the address from paypal as this will keep the buyer protection from paypal.
-real time shipping calculator - this would be awesome
I think USPS and UPS have their api s online for anyone but fedex requires you to prove some stuff e.g. American company and some others

This is a much needed plugin for a large percentage of Subdreamer clients, I'm glad to see this need being addressed and would like to extend my help in any way possible.
I would like to add that aside from the upcoming DLM, it would be nice to have an option that would allow for sale and downloading of electronic media through the "shopping cart" as well as tangible products. Example products could be an ebook, stock photography, sound FX, music loops, etc.

in a one word answer: No
it would be WAREZ to share it.
We held off on relaesing the PayPal mod with the download manager for now although it might be released later as a Download Manager Special Edition or similar.
Regarding the comments above about working on a Shopping Cart, I can definately state that I am not working on this. I can't speak for FASherman however

I would agree with adam on this one.
This plugin is a paid for plugin in which you either have to have pro version or purchase it on subdreamerplugins.com
To ask for it via share is basically asking someone to give you free music and other software, known as warez.

The PayPal addon has never been a free plugin for pro users. It's a plugin I wrote before I joined the Subdreamer team and which users had to pay for. If we decide to release it as an official Subdreamer plugin then you will be able to download it. Until then no-one should be redistributing it (not that I think anyone is).

Ooooh.... a shopping cart plugin would be excellent. We are looking for some kinda of shopping cart and looks like we'll have to use an external one such as oscommerce of clickcartpro and link to it, would have been brilliant to get one that allowed it all to be part of the site.
Easily would have paid for such a thing, but would need in the next month or so.

Is definetly something I'm sure people would pay for, I know I would, and surely it would provide a new angle for new customers to consider getting subdreamer. If all 3 people worked together it wouldn't take so long!! :D
Here is a thought. I stead or writing something from scratch like some of the above said, why not use an existing open source cart like oscommerce and make a bridge to subdreamer. They have one out to bridge users from phpBB to OsC, it looks like most of the work is done in that sense.

There is no, and will not be (in the near future), a shopping plugin for Subdreamer CMS. I have spread the word about a new shopping cart that is in the works, but it's not made spes. for Subdreamer. The shopping cart is called FreeCssCart (http://www.freecsscart.com), and seems to be (still very early in development), a good cart for intergrating into other systems, like Subdreamer. I would not start to work on another cart before we have seen what this will look like. I have my hopes up... :)

bopheim do you work for or are affliated with that company? Because they don't state on their page anything about integration with a CMS system nor specifically SubDreamer. Their development time frame is okay, but there are no teasers, screenshots, or any other info to get me excited. However I did sign up to be on their mailing list in the hopes maybe.

FreeCSScart is unlike anything else out there. First of all it is free. Second, it is all about web-standards, web 2.0, and CSS2. Third, it is made by web developers made especially for other web developers.[/b]
Since it states that it is made for other web developers, I assume that this will be 10x easier to intergrate into other systems, than what we have today.. like oscommerce etc..

All i need to do is create a simple add to cart, add totals (they can include gst), then, once ready, you jump to a Secure payment gateway.

Many have stated and a few started the project however never seems to get done and I have heard one say, too large to do, however, I would put some money into the project also and even try to help with the graphics if need be.
I really hope this one gets done, its the one plugin that would sell more subdreamer copies IMO.
For options etc, all I would like to see is paypal and 2co as payment processors added. I think a catelogue like site would fit the bill for most ppl. Anyway just my two cents.
Better yet, just write mods to zencart, cubecart, or xcart, that would suffice as well. Something like a forum integration would work. :)

Paypal integration payment methods can be seen here:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_...gration-outside (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_additional-payment-integration-outside)
This Plugin choulfd be very basic to bgin with, Ie, costs on the site already include tax etc.
I need to make the cart send to a Merchant (apparently this is all sorted on their old site). Anyone wanna do this?, I will put forth $75 US dollars to anyone who can do this, so, If U are in Mighty Mouse, that's $125 US so far.
RThere's gotta be someone out there who can make this killer plugin?

I did some research last night on authorize.net and have a pretty good understanding of their gateway and how it works. It seems to be one of the more excepted gateways and will work with 2co as well.
To be honest... pretty similar to some mappings I've done in the past for EDI. In my past life when I worked with ERP systems, this kind of stuff was always viewed as more difficult than it really was. I think we have made this into something considerably more difficult than it really is.
I can, and will build a cart. Reading through this topic again has really convinced me that it needs to happen. I'm going to finish up all of my current plugins and work solely on this one. Hopefully, I can dedicate so real time to this beginning in July.

In fact, a shopping cart plugin is what I have been working on; I hope to have at least an alpha release this week.
I reserved 3 plugins back in May. One of them will be the shopping cart, and one will be a shopping cart update; i.e. a small box you can toss on any page letting your users know that they have items in their cart and a link to check out.
The trick with using any old cart, like oscommerce, is actually getting it all to work in SD and with SD's systems. I.e. the admin panels, etc. I looked at modifying a few for a while, then just decided it would be easier and better to write one from scratch. With Subdreamers user systems, etc--it's easier that way.
Donations, of course, are happily accepted :D.

I don't accept email or PM's? Really? Odd. I thought I did. *sigh* *edit--just checked. The move to VB defaulted to those options off, I've reenabled them*
In any case: plugin update. It's going well. I have a screenshot located here. (http://www.harmonyforever.com/cpg143/displayimage.php?pos=-518)
Let me explain a bit of what that screenshot shows. Yes, the looks are kind of bad. I will take 72dpi up on his offer to help "pretty it up."
However: The products in this screenie are stored in a mysql database, and the images are loaded from a folder. I plan on making the folder a folder for regular sized pictures, and resizing the thumbnail on the fly, I think.
I am, at the moment, testing with only two products. I have implemented the permission checking, as well. Here (http://www.harmonyforever.com/cpg143/displayimage.php?pos=-519) is a screenshot with the permissions in place. As you can see, the only thing I've done is log out--and since I've made the two products invisible to Guests, I am not authorized to view any products.
The shop is working with url segments in place at the moment; thus easy bookmarking of products is working. For example, the "Harmony T-Shirt", or product # 1, will be easily viewable from the url "index.php?category=XX/shop/product/1" where XX is the category you have installed the plugin at.
The add to cart buttons work; though I have not as yet implemented the actual adding to cart. However, development is fairly rapid when I get a chance to work on it, so perhaps later on today or tomorrow I'll have more screenies, with a much more complete front end.
Behind the scenes, the users are being loaded from Subdreamer properly, via the username. A database session class has been loaded for guests as well, so we can keep track of their progress through the system.
At the moment, however, guest sessions only work for a vanilla SD install; I've not gotten around yet to fixing it for IPB--just a few lines of code. What I need is the cookie prefix structure for all the forums SD integretes with--I.e. what the "session id" is that SD stores in the cookie for each forum. So for those of you integreted with VB or SMF or phpbb, could I ask a huge favor? If you know the cookie prefixes, or how SD handles it in one of those forum settings, can you post what I should use? For example, vanilla SD uses this in the cookie: sdsessionid. And then there's 32 characters of gobbledook.
To find this out, create a custom plugin. In the plugin, please enter the following code:
<?php vardump ($_COOKIE); ?>
and toss it on a page somewhere. Load the page, and you'll get a whole mess of info, I think. Look for anything resembling a "sessionid" or a 32 characther long alphanumeric string. SMF may have issues; I'm suspicious of what it is using. Thanks!
Or, one of the devs of SD may take pity on me and tell me exactly. :D

Good. What about purchasing that plugin? Still costs 50$ ($30 if bought now) ? Still accept only Paypal ? What gateways supported - 2checkout ?

Yes, it will still cost $50, but $30 if pre-ordered before release. At the moment, I myself only accept paypal; though the plugin will have paypal and authorize.net and 2checkout gateways, with others to follow after release. Once I get my merchant account info up and going, and the plugin enter's beta, I will put it up on a SD site somewhere, and orders will be accepted via it.
My paypal account is vanceone@yahoo.com.

two cents of pre-orders (my own experiences)
I wouldnt preorder a software untill I've read the reviews or know the programmer/software company - there is always a chance that someone will setup some nice looking image get a ton of preorder cash and walk into the sunset with nothing more being able to be done - cause they'll tell you its 4 weeks away and paypal wont be able to get your money back by then... so just a grain of salt - everyone should do what they want... but I'll wait to I see alot of Yipppeeeesss and wow this is amazing before I order it.

yeah that is what I was hinting, would support it and get it, but will wait til I get more info and proof that it does exist. Seems back before forum going down this person stated it would be released first of October, now just waiting for word.
Did this plugin ever get released?
