p135 Rotating Sponsor Manager

I have taken the p92 Sponsor Manager made by Adam Cohen and converted it to a rotating Sponser manager.

You can have up to 10 ads in rotation, Clicks are counted, Alt text is displayed under the ad.

If for what ever reason a ad fails to load it defualts to the first ad set to display.

It has been submitted to be hosted under the plugins section. Until then here is a dl link:

I'm ok with this mod being posted... but please fix the code before you post it here... I commented you post with the error once you fix that you can edit the post and replace a link to the file (although I'd rather that you attach the file to the post - so I can see the download count)

it does say abcohen and modified by him... but he but the plugin author ID (the username # from subdreamer.com) as his...

all you had to do is say so. Updated the install file with your link, added upgrade statement to adjust for it.

well when i have a bit more time i was going to work weighting in to, but thats after i get this scrim plugin completed.

got the first part of that one completed, still have 6 or so more to go.

I&#39;m sure it still works however RC2 is a test and things might change down the road..usually all plugins are updated or upon request by users when subdreamer RC2 becomes final

I am debuging it right now shannon for unlimited ads, but i have question for you all.

Do you like how it currently does its rotations or would you like it to rotate in a display order type system?

edit - or maybe have opitions to switch between the 2 types of rotations?

either i almost ready with a unlimited ad manager. Though i am planing on releasing it along with a skin to kick off my new site that me and a friend will running to mkae custom skins and plugins for SD to start and then expand into other CMS or forum type systems. Be a varity of free and purchasable content. After all can&#39;t plug the site with out giving to the community ;D

It will be good option to change between the 2 types, or let&#39;s say it will be better&#33; :) Also, will you support flash banners as well? Will you support some ad on different plugin locations, like having one in left, one on right, and one on center.. or even more? (without need to clone the plugin). It will be good option to place more options like impressions, clicks limits. There are more suggestions like support for tracking system (cj and others) and so on, but they are not so important for the publishers with real advertisers..

there is already a overall click count tracking count and a daily post counting system, that will store information per add for 7 days (debuging this as well).

Flash i didn&#39;t think of that. I make the mods to allow it.

Actually if you run the random sections (plugin randomly selects 3 ads ids and then does some weighting math to pick the one it should display) then the chances of the same ad being displayed wouldn&#39;t be that great.

but those are some good ideas on click limitations. I may have to finish debuging what i am currently working on and work in a couple of these.

Just looking at it and to get them horizontal you must remove the
out of the file p135_sponsor_manager.php, correct? ---NEVER MIND I see it only shows 1 at a time...cool.

So my next question is how do I call the redirect_url.php function from a static HTML page. I want to edit the p135_sponsor_manager.php to have a link to ALL sponsors and then from there when one is clicked on it calls the redirect_url.php function so that it can update the amount of clicks a site has.

If you make the flash banners all the same, then yes, you simply edit the output file, and pass the random variable name. If different sizes, you will need to add new fields for height & width. I am not sure about the upload function, but should be similar (just need to edit allowed file type uploads I am sure.
