header logo in PNG apeears differently in IE and MF

Greetings,
I have Graphite pro installed as my skin. I created a png logo and uploaded it. But I found that it appears differently in two different browsers. In Mozilla forefox it appears ok.

But in Internet explorer there is an orange background behind the logo image.

Can somebody explain me how to remove that extra orange space which is coming in IR, or do I have to switch over to .gif image.

IE is horrible at conforming with some standards. It won't show png files well that are transpaarent. best bet is gif

But I found .gif image is creating a dithering effect (errated margins), so in effect I made .png.
I'll try that again!

Yep, IE does not conform to transparent PNG images....There was a workaround that I will have to find on my forum..not sure where just yet.

I've seen it as well. A lot of Javascript if I remember correctly. Too much work considering.
