I'm trying to add an extra column to the 3 column homepage of Edinburgh Talk (http://www.EdinburghTalk.com/) but it just doesn't look right. The skin I'm using, Graphite Pro by Robert Ellis, has a beautiful beveled edge which, when applied to 3 columns, gives an impression of depth. This effect and any sense of symmetry is lost when you add a 4th column - columns 3 and 4 both end up with beveled right-hand edges. You can currently see what I'm talking about at my site.

What I want to know is if there is some way to remove the beveled edge from column 3, meaning that only the left and right edges of the content area, column 1 and 2, will be beveled. It would be nice to retain column 3's nice blue background and module seperators but column 2's plain styling would be fine too.

I would be very grateful for any suggestions.

I'd certainly appreciate any suggestions as my own attempts to hack this haven't got me very far.

Might it be possible to do this via the Subdreamer's page design controls i.e. whatever it is that lets you change between Design 1 and Design 2 in the Admin controls? Is it possible to add extra Designs, ones with different column configurations?

Again, if anyone in this the SD.org community has any ideas, please let me know, I'm really stuck here.

I will think about this Donna, I'd never thought of four columns. it'd need to be a different shape I'd guess, I'll do some sketches and brainstorm. I should most likely have an asnwer and perhaps a mod for this tommorow - the next day.

four columns has merit for some commercial applications, so the idea has merit.

I've ultimately decided to make a pro version of Subdreamers, while I'm doing that I'll make a mod for a four column design Donna.
