What I need is some extra script so I can set restrictions to member groups on how many per day they can download.

I need this quite urgently and I'm willing to pay if need be.

Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

Could you clone the download manager and set it to so many downloads or do you need it to be user specific?

If you cloned it, you can set certain user groups to see it...cheap way about doing it.
