Now you can add a radio to your Subdreamer Powered Website with Radio.Blog SD!
What is Radio.Blog SD?
Radio.Blog SD is based off of Radio.Blog, which is a free (creative license) PHP script that allows you to have your own flash radio player
All you need to do is convert songs to .RBS format (with the included .bat files) and upload them to the sounds folder.
Cool, is it not?
Well, I have done it. I have made a working plugin for SD, called RadioBlog SD.
I am still testing it, I just thought I should tell someone about it.
Welcome speech included.

WinRAR gives me this log everytime i try to unrar your plugin. Ive tried to downlod your plgin more than once and its the same every time

Dont use winrar to extract it... or try downloading it again, I changed the compression level on the ZIP file.

I used a weird level of compression for that file, thats probably why it didnt work.

Is this player linked to your server? I believed that the player would play the music file i placed on my webhotel but all i get is this message "Offline due to bandwidth usage.". I must have misunderstood what your plugin does.

oh nuts.
i uploaded the wrong plugin.
edit -- fixed.
What happened was when mine was using too much bandwidth, I was going to upload an edited file that says "Offline due to bandwidth usage", and I accidentally zipped that up in the zip file.
I replaced the file and everything works now.

you guys understand on this, that if the server is hosted located in the USA then you can get slapped with lawsuits plus have to pay fees for songs.
and he is right things like this eat up a massive amount of bandwidth.
My group runs 2 online radio stations. luckly the one that is located in flordia has the general lincesing for broadcast so we don't pay Title fees for the songs we play from it.
http://media.clanubp.com/radio.html
If you guys really like this i could give you the info to set it up.
you can use just about any media player to listen.

you are talking about license fees if they have used commercial music and or commercial broadcasts however I think and don't quote me that you can stream your own stuff?
By lawsuits you are referring to the RIAA right?
I agree, anyone takes a risk putting music on their site. Besides the RIAA does not even want ppl to copy CD's to their ipods and its only a gift from them anyways.
BTW, I"m not condoning any illegal use of music and broadcasts.

you can stream your own stuff. if and only if the server is hosted outside the united states.
other then that if you are found to not have a boardcast lincess you can be sued.
Yeah it's stupid, but we had to do a lot of investigation on this when setting up our radio stations.

wow thanks for the info...
So shoutcast needs a license also?
Thanks, I don't do broadcasts etc, but found in informative and did not realize that the broadcast lic was needed. I suppose the lic is expensive?
Pyromanci
02-16-2006, 05:27 PM
shoutcast yes, if your webserver is inside the united states. other wise no.
Our UK shoutcast server doesn't have a lic.
Our US shoutcast server doesn't, but thats becuase we take over that server, that is used for other boardcast stuff during the day on a nother IP so we ultize thier lic.
I believe a lic is around 500 or so for a 24 man server. for a unlimited man it's 2k i think.
