This is a flash based photo gallery. It is helpful for those who have photography sites and want to show off their photo's without having to worry about people ripping them off.

Features

Files can be uploaded and deleted from the ACP.
Thumbnails are automatically created.
Full control in ACP.
Photo's are displayed in alphabetical order.
Flash user interface.

Current Version: 1.2.1

I don't know what the deal is downloading wise. It's my first time using the download manager. I'll look into it. The *.fla file is not included.

EDIT: The downloading problem can fixed. Registered users of the site can download now.

let me know if you want some help fixing this... I could guess the issues is in the flash file needing the plugin in that directory... you could have the flash file read the variable from an external text file making it clone-able.

Yeah it has to do with how the flash file get's the directories for the images. Right now it's static, which is why it won't clone.

No I haven't and it's because of how subdreamer calls the flash file when you view it. There has to be a static link inside the swf.

I just got an idea on how to fix it, which I'm going to try out. I'll let you know how it works. :D

the time for the error messages is to short.

If the file is to big. I hardly did notice it the first time.

CHMOD the image folder and it's subfolders to 777 or so. That did the trick for me. :D

Also, Iggy, any chance of there being an option to add captions to these images in the future or perhaps a simple hack you could explain to do so? That would really make this plugin perfect.

its a nice plugin....but what would be even sweeter, and im sure its possible, to have a timer on to change the images at a variable interval.

i would love to use this as a header!

How do i get rid of the top row of images and the scroll bar, and set the interval?

I couldn't be able to tell you at the moment. I don't think it would make a good header though.

I found this when I was looking for an MP3 player for my site, this guy makes awesome flash scripts with the FLA. I use his player buy the way (Click the speaker on my main page.)

One thing, If images adon't load, it is usually if you have saved the image out, say in photoshop, & selected them to download as a "Progressive".

i have used many xml based flash galleries & this is always the case.

You install it just like any other plugin.

Unzip
Upload folder p119_flashgallery to you plugins folder.
Goto Plugins in the ACP
Click Install

What kind of error are you getting?

I see what you mean. I just upgraded the download manager and I guess it screwed up my files. I'll reupload everything.

Hi there, I've tested both the version 1.2 ( which I updated to Xhtml valid ) and 1.1 - yet I'm not able to get an image to work in either version - do you know what could be the cause ?

It adds the image, yet shows up as a broken link, then the thumbnail shows up fine in the gallery frontend, yet it wo'nt load the image itself. Strange behaviour so I thought that I'd ask.

IGGY, this is a great plugin, and I think with a with a little more work I would prefer this over the official image gallery. Categories would be nice, as others have suggested.

I have a slight problem with mine.... about 3 out of 10 ppl I got to look at this test page are saying the large pic isnt loading for them:

It works fine for me but the frustrating thing is that there are still some who cant see the large image. In addition the 3 ppl that cant see it were all using linux...

Any idea what is wrong with mine?

Sorry I can't believe i missed this.

One of the things I can think of is the image format. You can't save the JPEG's as "Progressive".
The other thing is CMOD'ing the images folder to 777.

Give those a shot and see if works. ;)

latest light version and this was a fresh install of your flashgallery. I uninstalled and reinstalled it again, something I did notice was the thumbs area had no images either. I do have gd2 installed on webserver also.
Give me a second and I will add it again to plugin space..

I got new images to show, but no thumbnails, do i need to chmod anything else

Also, in the example you have above, I can't see your thumbs. Remember not to save your JPEG's in progressive.

I still could not use the upload feature and ftp did work so not sure about that..also a program saved as JPG and not jpg so i would not think that would matter would it?

every time, no warning on upload but nothing would show it uploaded anything.
is there a way to display the title of image or description/caption?

side note, on ftp, which displayed images, however in acp there is not images displayed..

what browser are you using?

if your using FF, go the admin panel and right click on the broken image and click "View Image", check the path to see where it's looking for the image.

Also 777 the images folder.

Just for my curiosity can you upload version 1.1 and see what kind of results you get?

won't this upload of older version mess up plugin directory of flash gallery?

in the acp where normal images would appear, there is nothing what so ever, no thumbs to look at etc. just like there was never any images. FtP shows the images just fine in the live site, but acp shows nothing what so ever.

Earlier before I deleted the orange images it showed just fine. So I don't think its a version thing, just something weird going on. IM using FF

i can upload another image and it shows so it must be something with the image or something....

I have to check some more because I did another image and it worked just fine and showed thumbnail in image gallery.

The "weed" images the I FTP'd up are 448 by 336 and compressed down to about 40kb on average.

If you want to uninstall and then upload version 1.1 to see what happens.

I haven't really taken a hard look to see what changes Robert made, but I have been getting messages about errors with the new version.

If it's not to much trouble try 1.1 to see what happens.

okay i think its also dependant on the extension jpg works but not JPG

I changed lowercase and now its working
I think my camera saves in uppercase JPG

Well. It does not, I've checked on my linux machine firefox, not working, yesterday I was on inverview for company loan and we opened our site there as well, it was not able to open with their browse (it was not firefox, it was MSN i think .. or something similar)...
